Clusters have a certain amount of autonomy that allows pupils and teachers to feel at home. Each cluster consists of: an inner hall, classrooms, space for individual work and a sanitary block, while the adjacent staircase provides a direct connection to the entrance of the building. This inner hall differs from the main hall in terms of age and intimacy. It has the ability to transform as an open learning landscape. The classrooms are separated from the hall by wall partitions, which, depending on age, allow for a different level of intimacy. Thus, in the first school cycle, barriers to the lobby are actually invisible barriers that separate the classrooms from the public space. In the second cycle, once they have gained some security and independence, their separation from public space is reduced to two glass panels (fixed-wing doors on the side), while in the third cycle, the interior of the classroom is reduced significantly to only one glass door wing and cornice, just like in the second cycle. Each of the clusters, directly or via the staircase is connected to the exit, has a connection to the yard, and represents a large playground that forms multiple zones without formal divisions. So the interior of the building is actually pouring out, so the halls become outdoor classrooms - a square or a park. The children are allowed direct contact with the land, grass and forest. As part of the concept of energy efficiency, a solar power plant is planned to be installed on the roof of the school building and gymnasium in order to produce electricity. Roof gardens also contribute to the overall insulation of the building, and are also a demonstrative model for the integration of ecology and construction technology. After decades of domination of "concrete" and "understandable" designs based on the new traditionalism, and the inevitable influence of such solutions on an individual's aesthetic perception in Podgorica, proposing a project that contains random or unexpected elements poses quite a challenge. One can see the topographies of the Moon with bays, craters, hills, and similar formations visible in the evening, until contrast is heightened in the sky. In future, it will be an ordinary thing to spend a summer holidays on moon. Until then we stay grounded. The designed space contains elements of park, playground and square such as sloping terrain for skate and roller skating, grass crater with wood, tunnel, benches, hill with sculpture or bamboo forest, allowing for the freedom of interpretation and modes of use. There is no instruction manual or unambiguous explanation of how to spend time here. The project is conceived through four main themes, so that the desire for good public housing that is sustainable, identity-creating, functional and human-friendly can be brought to life. These themes are: nature, building, connections and community. We wanted to realise the potential of Skæring Bæk as an area where future residents can live and have their everyday lives in the middle of nature — the housing is placed in the tall grass, so that the feeling of being present in nature is strengthened. A proportional distribution of 2, 3, and 4-bedroom apartments has been created to accommodate a diverse collection of residents from singles and couples spanning all ages to small and large families with children. If the needs change over time, the housing principle is conceived so that rooms can be added and subtracted from the apartments without deteriorating the quality of housing. The buildings are thought to be built in wood, either as full wood construction or in a hybrid version. We want to offer generous outdoor space of a versatile nature between the buildings, which can be reached from any apartment in just a few steps. Common everyday and festive activities can be held here, and the location of the settlement farthest west gives as much distance as possible to the busy and noisy Grenåvej. Wild nature reigns along the creek. Our goal is to add beauty to nature. This project represents an attempt to question how such a simple volume could integrate and counter a pile of cables and steel columns. Local architectural influence is depicted by the arcades (front and back) that are filled-in differently depending on the inner space and equipment disposition. Here, architecture tries to overwhelm the impression of infrastructural facility by combining it with picturesque landscape and wind generators. Given the fact that each district appears detached, the fragmented city shares common relationship with the landscape. Morača river cuts softly through the urban structure via north-south axis, while the mountains are identified as distant, although noticeable frame of the city. No matter where one stands in the city, he/she is embraced by the forces of geology. Along the streets, the trees grow reaching higher floors and offer a lush shadow landscape countering sun rays. Perhaps it’s not the infrastructure that is the key to a successful city, but rather a harmonious synergy between the city, its buildings and landscape. Therefore, the ambition of the proposal is to create a strong and main robust landscape grip that places Sadine within a larger urban scale. An east-west central and urban promenade stretches throughout Sadine, which merges the area with the park to the east and the vineyard to the west. The central in situ concrete core forms a fluid spatial structure with life evolving around it. From the street side, the house is perceived as a composition of two volumes: the mansard and the “introvert” ground floor, both having almost identical proportions. Towards the yard, the house seems to have been cut down and opened all over the facade looking at the existing pines. Through the focus on the basic structural elements, created spaces emphasise the architectural quality of fullness and emptiness, light and shadow, reflection and circulation. As a young team, we were interested in how to shape the architectural essence of the house, and we decided to improve what makes the house: walls, slab and roof. Working closely with the structural engineer we succeeded in reducing the bearing walls to the internal concrete core, which envelopes bathrooms, laundry, technical installations, with kitchen line attached on the outside. By forming a slab of only 15 cm it was possible to make a fully transparent rear façade with an almost invisible horizontal division line. The roof is a typical wooden structure that responds to the challenges of form, allowing the curvature to be seen both from inside and outside. The exterior is coated with simple bitumen shingles, creating a solid, monolithic look along with anthracite facade and black gutters. Counter to that, the white interior creates suitable conditions for natural light, while the surrounding greenery brings warm colours into the interior. All materials are customised from the standard local vendor directory in order to maintain the budget on a minimum. few decades. We were searching for an adequate approach – without extraordinary forms and expensive materials, discrete and firm like the citizens of Cetinje. We opted for modules, similar to Japanese tatami, which reflect a philosophical and religious component. In our case, there are two geometric elements placed in different compositions – flat and quarter cylinder modules. They consist of vertical steel profiles and a metal panel in between that can be attached in accordance with its function. Modules can be empty or filled with glass. It is possible to form multiple combinations. Shapes vary depending on the kiosk function. Our goal was to bring the house closer to the people and open it for visitors. Abstract forms and geometric shapes, which correspond to natural surroundings, excite children’s imagination. The house particularly tickles sensory perception and awareness of scale and proportion depending on one’s distance and access. It looks as if it were stranded on the shore and rested there. The combination of pebble, pigmented concrete, wooden textures and surrounding greenery work together on a phenomenological level. The building creates tactile experiences and triggers sensations: there’s an interplay between the freshness and the flow of the river and the sternness of spiky wood chips from rough boards, which can pierce through the skin if not carefully handled. Hands splintered with thorns from the boards, stained with red, almost earth mass, and with legs turned blue by the cold water – it’s but a joyful play in nature. 18:18:16 +0000 radonji.ch https://radonji.ch/K-1701-Rethink-Arkitektur K-1701Rethink Architektur Aarhus was chosen as the European City of Culture for 2017 alongside Pafos (Cyprus). Therefore, the Municipality of Aarhus organised different activities themed Let's Rethink, including the architectural design competition Rethink Architecture Pavilion. We came up with the idea to make a brick pavilion in landscape design. Crushed bricks are spread over the park forming a volcano-shaped hill with a massive circular Gabion wall in its centre. Being crushed, different types of bricks create the character of space through sound and motion. Small pieces of bricks shake under the feet as an instrument, allowing children to discover different shapes to be used for playing. Music, film, and dance are brought together in an interactive landscape. As the basic element of the Danish building method, bricks raise attention to the consumption and recycling of construction resources. The audio visual render of our proposal can be seen in the work of Michèle Anne De Mey "Love Sonnets" (1993).
